Abstract
Nowadays, there is growing awareness of the need for development of new antimicrobial agents for the treatment of human, animal, and plant diseases. Marine bacterua have been recognized as an important resource for novel bioactive compounds. A greater development of marine biotechnology will produce novel compounds that may contribute significantly towards drug development over the next decade. The current investigation aimed at the isolation of local marine bacteria able to produce antimicrobial agents against some bacterial fish pathogens.
