Abstract

Studying the record values to find the estimates of the location and scale parameters
of the extreme lower bound distribution and we calculated the maximum
likelihood estimation (MLE0s), the best linear unbiased estimation (BLUE0s) and
the best linear invariant estimation (BLIE0s). Finally, we compare our estimates
for the location and scale parameters with the corresponding MLE0s, BLUE0s and
BLIE0s. The thesis consists of four chapters as follows:
In chapter one:
The objective of this research is to present some basic definitions of order statistics
record values including the standard record values, the probability density function of
record values, moments, the maximum likelihood estimation of the upper and lower
record values, BLUE0s of location and scale parameters and the best linear invariant
estimation (BLIE0s).
In chapter two:
We present the recurrence relations of single and double moments of record values,
calculated the BLUE0s and MLE0s of Type I and type III extreme value which are
Gumbel and Weibull distributions respectively of the record values.
In chapter three:
We obtain the pdf, expected value, variance and covariance of the Type(II) which
is extreme lower bound distribution and we obtained the BLUE0s, BLIE0s of the
extreme lower bound distribution of the record values.

In chapter four:
We obtain the maximum likelihood estimation of the extreme lower bound distribution
which described in chapter 3, finally compare of the three methods BLUE0s,BLIE0s
and MLE0s of the extreme lower bound distribution of the record values.
