Abstract – thisstudy aimed to protect the nitrogen the fixing (Azotobacter and Azospirillum ) and phosphate dissolving bacteria against their bacteriophages . Azotobacter ; Azospirillum and phosphate dissolving bacteria were randomly isolated (five isolates each ), from rhizosphere soils of cucumber and tomato plants , grown in different locations in Minia Governorate . Bacteriophages of the isolated bacteria were enriched form soils where bacteria had been isolated . The efficiency of each isolate of Azotobacter or Azospirillum , in fixing nitrogen was assayed .In addition , the efficiency of each isolate of p-dissolving bacteria , in reducing the ph value and in dissolving insoluble phosphate eas also evaluated . The most efficient isolates of either Azotobacter , Azospirillum or p-dissolving bacteria were selected to be used as bacterial inocula in this study . |
