Abstract The rock units ured and correlated with other parts of Sinai Suez and north Western Desert Macro-fossils (echinoids and molluscs) were careflly Cretaceous to Early Eocene. The Cretaceous rocks are classsified as Malha Formation (Albian), Raha Formation (Late Cenomanian) Abu Qada Formation (Late Cenomanian - Early Turonian ), Wata Formation (Turonian),Matulla Formation Meastrichtian and Danian). The Upper Paleocene sediments are repreesented by the main part of the Esna Forma~ion whereas the Lower Eocene is represented by the top part of the Esna Formation as well as the Thebes Formation . These formations were mapped sedimentological points of view . Seven stratigraphic secctions represent~ng all the outcroping rock units were meas- Upper Creaceous rocks of Gebel Musaba Salama and Wadi Matulla area were recognised. They include six echinoids, three ammonites, three gastropods,.and eighteen bivalves. |
