Abstract The present study was established at El-Edwa, El-Minia Governorate, Egypt, during the two successive growing seasons 1994 and 1995 to study the effect of planting dates and nitrogen fertilizer levels on growth , yield and its components and oil content of seeds in new reclaimed sandy soil. The desgn used was a split-plot with four replication.Main plots were devoted to sowing dates (April 25, May 5,May 15 and May 25) and sub-plots to nitrogen fertilization levels (0,30,45,60 and 75kg N/fed).
