Abstract investigations in this thesis are concerned with the preparation of two novel groups of steroidal heterocycles as potential anticancer agents.in addition, some of the synthesised compounds were tested for their in-vitro anabolic and catabolic activities by measurement of their effects on the bovine pancreatic ribonuclease. the studies are presented in three parts as follows: part I reports on the synthesis of eighteen neww steroidal heterocycles in which an oxazole ring has been fused to either 2.3-or3.4- positions of the estrone nucleus. |
