Abstract This study was carried out on the Faculty of Asricullture university of Minia dairy herd. A total of 210 buffalo and cow Calves were used the period from november 1980 to May 1983. A number of buffalo Calves was pur-chased from neighbouring markets at an age of about 2-3 Weeks, while the other group of buffalo and cow Calves were born on the farm. Tehe Aim of this Study is to eval-ute the effect of Weaning System, beside other factors such as, breed, sex, year and Season of Calving and effect of Parity of dam on Some economical traits of buffalo and cow Calves up to 2-2 1/2 year of age. These traits were, birth weight, Weaning Weight, body Weight and measurements, average daily gain at different ages, Correlation Coeffi-cients between them and breeding efficiency in male and female Calves. fourty Six male Calves 33 buffaloes and 13 Cows were slaughtered to investigate the effect of breed, weaning systems, season and year of Calving and Age and Weight at Slaughter on Carcass traits. Data were Statistically analy-sed using the least Square method. |
