Abstract
In the last % Decades, the surgery for congenital heart disease showed great progresses particularly, for tetralogfy of fallot with a world wide early mortality less than 3%. The aim of this work was to evaluate the early results of surgical repair of tetralogy of Fallot in respect to the method of repair. In this work, we studied 61 patients operated on for Fallot tetralogy repair using a transatrial-transventricular approach, Results The early mortality for the whole group was 1.6%. patients who had total correction had no early mortality while in staged repair there was 4.35% mortality. Patients who had the repair in the first year of life had a n~ortality of 2.04% while those who had the repair beyond the first year of life had no mortality. There was 5.55% early mortality when a transannular patch was used while; there was no mortality when there was no patch.
