Abstract
in atomic absorption spectroscopy the occurance of the background interference,which is attributed to the molecular absorption and/or the light scattering causes the systematic errors in measurements. a simple theoretical treatment of atomic and the effect of the background interference assuming a gaussian profile for the spectral line emitted from the source and a voigt profile for the absorbed and interfering line is developed.
