Abstract Alexandria Eastern-Harbour (EH) is a shallow (mean depth 6 m) semicircular bay of surface area 2.53 km2. its water is confined and communicated with Mediterranean sea via two opening (each less than 300 m long). The harbour is used as a fishing- dock, yachting, fishing and for other amenities including swimming and sailing. The elevation of its bottom is between 2 and 12 m below sea level and slopes gradually towards the center of the harbour and behind the main (western) opening, called El-boughaz. |
