Abstract
This study was carried out in poultry Research farm of Animal production Department., Faculty of Agriculture, Minia University. The experiment was started in 1996 and continued till January 1997. this experiment was designed to study the effect of Human Chorionic Gonadotrophin (HCG) injection on productive and reproductive performance of local Fayoumi chickens.
A total number of 240 (192 females and 48 males) of Fayoumi birds at age of 16 weeks was used in the present study. Birds were divided randomly into four treatments, each treatment contained 48 females and 12 males treatment birds were distributed on four replicate (12 females and 3 males). Preognyl (HCG) was purchased from (Nile Co-Cairo,Egypt). The first treated group was subcutoneasly injected with 50 lu/mi HCG in saline solution for 7 successive days at 18 weeks of age, the second group was injected at 26 weeks, the third group was injected at 53 weeks of age, the fourth group was not injected and serve control group.
