Abstract
Methods of fire fighting for oil tanks considers the most important ways which carrying out now to develop the ability for reducing the losses in persons and equipments, so it is important for everyone to study the lire lighting methods to decrease the losses.
This study contains the fundamentals for fire suppression systems, types of fires, types of flammable materials, methods of heat transfer (conduction, convection and radiation) and how to deal with lire accidents.
This study also illustrate the types of foam, its consists, material needed to manufacture foam and advantages & disadvantages for each type. Also we study the design of foam networks which uses to firefighting in vertical type of petroleum tanks.
This study also contains the case study of 120 000m3 crude oil with movable floating rool the type of foam, period of operation of foam.cooling system, amount of water required etc.
