Abstract :(Part (1 Effect of some micronutrients on growth, yield and quality of garlic : Two field experiments were conducted in two successive winter seasons of 1982-83 and 1983-84 at Sids Horticulture research station. Garlic cv. ’’ Chinese ’’ was planted on ridges of 60 cm. apart. Plot area was 10.5 M2 . (1/400 fed.). This study included two experiments Part (2): Effect of plant density on growth, yield and quality of garlic : The experiment was conducted in the winter season of 1984-85 at Sids and Aiyat locations. ’’ Balady ’’ and ’’ Chinese ’’ garlic cultivars were used to evaluate the effect of plant density on growth, yield and quality. Cloves were seeded at 7 cm. apart within row. Seven density treatments were established by using ridges of 50 or 60 cm in width, where 2,3 or 4 rows were seeded in each ridge which coded treatment 1,3 or 5 for those seeded on 60 cm. 2,4 or 6 for those seeded on 50 cm. ridge , respectively. In addition five rows were seeded on each ridge of 60 cm in width and coded treatment no.7. |
