Abstract The present study was conducted during 1995/1996 and 1996/1997 seasons on Williams banana cv. Grown in a private orchard situated at itsa village (15km north of minia city). The experimental work started on the second and third rations. The stools were four meters apart. The present study involved three experiments lies under the following main topics : 1-evaluation of Williams banana CV.under minia governorate. 2-effect of number of suckers per hill on plant growth and production. 3- Artificial ripening of Williams banana by using ethrel. In the first experiment:120 stools were selected and devoted for studying the evaluation of Williams bananaCV. Under minia governorate conditions. Each stool included three suckers and all suckers of the whole stools were of similar age. In the second experiment: the number of suckers per stool were varied to 2,3,4,5 and 6. the experiment was set in a completely randomized block design. Each block consisted six stool and replicated for three time to compose for each treatment. There by, 72 stools were used in this experiment. |
