Abstract The work presented in this thesis concentrates on an optimization technique to obtain the thicknesses of the multilayer of the module front namely, glass, adhesive, and antireflection coating that give maximum The power. optimization is carried out on the short circuit current of the module as it is directly proportional to the incident light transmitted and also to the power output. The thesis consists of four chapters and three appendices. Chapter I starts by the sun insolation and the effects of environment on it. It contains the utilization of the solar energy in thermal and electrical application using solar collectors and solar cells respectively. Also, it presents the different types of solar cells with its advantages and disadvantages. It also shows how the efficiency of the solar cell can be increased by using concentrators.
