Abstract
Recent Years Have seen The Rapid Development Of Gastrointestinal Tract Endoscopy In The Diagnosis Ease And It Is Now Well Established That Endoscopy Is More accurate Than Barium Radiology Of The Gas Trointestinal Tract Although Gastrointestinal Tract Endoscopy Procedures Are Not A Painful Procedure The Patients Are Sedated Yet Not Anaesthetized. Patients often Feel Acutely Anxious And Find The Procedures Extremely Exhausting And Uncomfortable. Several Studies Reported That Careful Explanation About Procedure Could Be Beneficial. Therefore The Nurse As An Educator Needs To Identify Educational Needs of Patients Undergoing Gastrointestinal Endoscopy Proce Dure Correct False Expectations Or Misconceptions By Providing Correct Information Based Upon Individuals Educational Needs. The Present Study Was Carried Out To Identify The Educational Needs Of Patients Undergoing Gas Trointestinal Endoscopy. The present study was carride out to identify the edcational needs of patints under gas trointestiinal endoscopy. The sample comprised 150 adult patients schduled for diagnostic and or threapeutic upper or lower gastointestinal endoscopy.
