Abstract

prediction of Workpiece profiles and Theoretical model for steady state ECM of axially
or etric cavities is developed. The model paid special
attention to the hydrodynamic and thermal aspects of the
Piracess Theoretical formulae describing electrolyte
2wessure and temperature distributions along the working
gap are derived and numerically solved for selected
.ix=erimental conditions. Comparison of results with
=x7erimental findings proved the potentiality of the
-- =cre tical model and its usefulness as a technique
tool design.
.-.eoretical and experimental pressure distributions
indicated the presence of subatmospheric pressure
along the working gap. The minimum subatmospheric
pressure values are encountored in the frontal gap and
found to increase in the down stream direction.
Decreasing electrolyte flow velocity, by increasing
the tool feed rate, improved the situation in the
frontal gap by increasing subatmospheric pressure
va lues. An increase in the subatmospheric pressure
va lues in the frontal and transition gaps took place
