Abstract

A command guidance system is defined as one wherein intelligence is transmitted to the missile from an outside source causes the missile to traverse a prescribed trajectory in space, this trajectory depends on the used guidance method.COmmand guidance systems require that the behaviour of the missile and the target to be monitored externally, that any deviation from the prescribed collision course be computed and communicated to the missile and interpreted by its control system so as to realign the missile flight path toward an intercept with the target.
Since the targets are moving with a high speed then these targets will travel several miles towards the firing point in a short time and since the flight time of the missile is limited and the missile mist destroy the target before releasing its weapons, then the minimization of the interception time with the target is an important factor in the guidance process.A significant result of the minimization time is increasing the readiness time for the engagement with the next target.
