Abstract
This research work focuses on methods of concrete curing and presents information of curing compounds, types of curing compound ,specifications, method of application, curing duration and when the curing by chemical compound starts.
This work studied the effect of different types of curing on the compressive strength of concrete cubes and the plastic shrinkage of concrete.
The water loss in concrete and it’s relation with the curing application rate of the curing compounds, was determined also in this study. This study also included economical study about the cost of using several methods of curing.
From the test results of this research work, it can be concluded that the use of curing compounds improves the hydration process of cement past and reduces the water loss from concrete surface also the use of curing compound reduces significantly the plastic shrinkage cracks for concrete surface.
