Abstract
The purpose of this work has been to develop n new method of measuring the fabric handle objectively as this property affects the fabric comfort and function. The developed handle apparatus has been proved to be good substitution for the traditional subjective ranking of fabric handle. A theoretical analysis to predict the fabric handle as measured by the developed apparatus has been derived and it has been found that the xperimental values verify the theory.
The developed technique has been found sensitive enough to predict any change in fabric handle. A simplified apparatus for measuring fabric handle has also been introduced for comparative evaluation of fabrics.
