Abstract The results of the study concerning listening comprehension skills showed that the hypothesis that systematic instruction through the use of multimedia based program would result in improvement of listening comprehension was confirmed. The results of the study showed significant differences between the experimental group which received the program instruction and the control group which did not receive any program instruction in favour of the experimental group. This indicated that the multimedia based program group achieved higher proficiency in terms of the overall listening comprehension than the control group. Similarly, the amount of growth between the pre-test and post-test was significant in overall listening comprehension for the experimental group student. Comparison of the mean scores of the control and experimental groups post-test This improvement could be illustrated in figure (1) In overall listening comprehension The effect of the multimedia based program was reflected in the high scores the students obtained after being exposed to the program. The large-size effect obtained from the t-test provided confirmation that the program instruction resulted in improved performance on the listening comprehension |
