Abstract
GENERAL:The deep drawing process is an important manuTacturing process •In this process a thin sheet of metal is drawn through a die. Fig. 1.1. by a aalid punch and deformed into a seamless cup.This process is very convenient for mass production of vessels from thin.hoets and it 1s extensively used in the mochanical. automobile and aeronaut¬icel industries Many investigations on the process of cup drawing have been carried out previously. An extensive survey of these investigations have been mentioned by EL-Sebaie ( 1 ) •It has been shown that all past investigations were carried out based on the following assumptions •1.The blank-holding force is exerted at the rim only •”I” 2.The equivalent strain is numerically equal to the circumferential strain • 3.The material is subjected to instantaneous bending and unbending on reaching and leaving the die orofile espectively.4.The variation of material thickness can be neglected in the equilib¬rium equation •S.Neglecting’ thefrlction between the blank and tools •
