Abstract

”ielding. of thermoplastic matrial is increasingly called for in industry. Regarding the sealing and welding as processes for joining;parts, thermoplastics are taking- a dist¬inguishable position; due to their physical properties and their benefits in practice. The commonly used classification of welding methods based on the method of ”introduced into or generated in” weldirV, , heat; high frequency welding process - as electrical excitation method - is considered as a self-gcneration of welding heat in Lhe materiAl to be welded. The thesis presents experimental xork to determine
the validity of application of welding by highvoltage alter¬nating field on preheated thermoplastic fiIMS. .1.1SO , it presents a study on a standard high frequency -weldiril:, machine to investigate the relationships between different factors or variables of the technique and the welding merit factor, these factors were :
a)the welding pressure
b)the anode current (T),
c)the cycle welding time (T), and
d)the welding electrode shape.
The study has achieved an objective of determining the most suitable level for each variable toilether withhe
.1.suitable electrode shape; beside this quantitative values the work determines the thermal stability of some of the
