Abstract The primary objective of this study is the computer simulation of the indirect injection diesel engines. Two theoretical models were studied and the models equations were solved numerically on the computer. Some experimental tests were carried out on an indirect injection engine. The combustion and injection data were measured and recorded using piezo electric transeducers. The pre-chamber pressure and injection fuel line pressure were measured by pressure transeducers and the dynamic injection timing was recorded by a force transeducer system fitted to the injector. The first theoretical model gives the complete simulation of the indirect injection diesel engine. It gives relationships between the following:1-Rate of heat release diagram from the rate of injection diagram 2-Pressures and temperatures against crank angle diagrams for pre and main chambers from the rate of heat release diagram. Also the theoretical model was used to predict the mass flow of gases between the pre and main chambers. To show the validity of the theoretical computer simulation, the second model was used to represent the experimental results. |
