Abstract Different types of dialyzers are currently in use for treatment of acute and chronic renal failures as well as toxicity- The exact understanding of the dynamic pattern in a specific haemodialyzer is essen¬tial for obtaining better hae-modialysis and improving or modefying the dialyzer function.. The object of the present work is to offer a thorough analysis for the dynamic pattern of blood flow in a parallel flow dialyzer and the quantitative as well as parametric study for the different variables affecting the entire operation. The problem is tackled in vitro by utilizing a kiil dialyzer, with citrated fresh blood as the dia¬lyzed medium. The results show an increase in dialysance with increasing both blood and dialysate flow rates. Also, dialysance increases with decreasing haematocrit. it was also found that though dialysance decreases with increased haematocrit, yet the rate of dialysance. |
