Abstract
This Work is a compartive study of some open-end spinning machines which are available in the Egyptian textile industry. A genral index of yarn quality is introduced to describe yarn quality level summing up the test results. Some economical aspects of raw material, machine cost labour cost and power requirment cost are also listed. New designe for the yarn doffing tube are introduced and the quality of the produced yarns is assessed.Lastly the tension created in the yarn during spinning on yarn quality and twist efficiency is investigated.
