Abstract The present work aims at the determination of the most economical quality control procedures, applied fox production processes whose parameters axe changing stochastically. A simulation model which represents the complete behaviour of one of these processes which produces articles with one con¬siderable quality characteristic is constructed. The different parameters and cost elements of a general prsduction process are, intendentally, represented in a simple recursive form. Hence, the constructed simulation model is useful not only in direct apr)licatuions to processes represented by that model, but also as a backbone of constructing more general models using these parameters and cost elements. A numerical application of the constructed model is used for the ti!,-,djtional I’Shewhart” control chart to obtain the most econo~Acal sample si2e and sai.-ipling interval achieving to objectives a) Miniau}d total cost per effective woxkpiecet- and., b) iviiaimt1ai percentage defectives. |
