Abstract The shortage of suitable water of Nile for agricultural purpose ,especially for newly reclaimed land imposed the problem of finding another source for irrigation . the application of saline irrigation or drainage water affects the salt content of the soil. The kind and concentration of salts present in irrigation water or in the soil did not affect only the growth of plant but inhibit also the proliferation and activity of native or introduced microorganisms |
