Abstract

The present experimental work which was principally concerned with the comparative assessment of the effects of 7 biologically active agents namely: cholesterol, testosterone, progesterone, pregnandiol, estrone, estradiol and estriol on the permeability of lysosomal
Memberanes of isolated rat liver lysosomes in-vitro, may be considered as an informative example for studies of the direct hormonal action of this class of compounds on the intracellular organelles without any interference on the part of metabolic drug biotransformation in the whole body in vivo.
from a large variety of steroidal hormones, the test agents were selected as main representatives for androgens, estrogens and progestins in view of their wide use for specific therapeutic purposes for most of the population under specific hormonal treatment in Egypt
