Abstract
This study was conducted at Tissue Culture Laboratory (TCL), Faculty of Environmental Agricultural Sciences (FEAS), El-Arish, North Sinai, Suez Canal University during 2000 to 2003. The aim of these experiments was to evaluate somatic embryogenesis to achieve the best protocol for date palm (Phoenix dactyli/era L.) propagated in vitro and to examine different cultivars of date palm for mass propagation. Three date palm cvs Khadrawy, Sameny and Zaghloul were evaluated during these studies.
