Abstract _e problem of liquid motion inside partially filled tanks onboard a moving vessel, is one of the important problems in fluid dyn¬Z-1ics. -’--e present-work indicates that in studying these problems, It is 7--acticable to replace the tank by an equivalent mechanical model __r the purpose of dynamic analysis. -sr the effect of translational motion of the liquid tank, the -endulum model is used as an equivalent- mechanical motion to --udy the expected motion. --.,,,o important cases of motion are studied which are the resonance Non-resonance Non-linear oscillations. The equation of motion is derived using LagpT.angian mechanics. -.--e obtained approximate periodic solutions for this equation are rased upon the method of small parameter. This is introduced from --.e basics of Purturbation method for a quasilinear system contai¬__-4ng small Non-linearity terms in the right hand side of the-equa -or the resonance non-linear oscillations, the solutions are obta¬-ned for the Ultra-harmonic case (n=2) and the sub-harmonic case the results introduced by this method can be applied r any tank of a general shape which is more practicable than results of.previous works in this field. |
