Abstract Aim of the work The aim of this work is to estimate the effect of Omega3 fatty acid supplementation in patient with chronic liver disease both in the early and advanced stage. Conclusion The use of Omega3 polyunaturated fatty acids in patients with chronic liver disease whether compensated or decompensated improves the coagulation factor V time and concentration. Omega3 polyunaturated fatty acids prevent the deterioration in the prothrombin concentration when given to patients with compensated liver disease. Omega3 polyunaturated fatty acids may have an anti-inflammatory effect and reduce the liver inflammation causing a reduction of the serum enzymes. |
