Abstract Aim of the work This study aims to elucidate in a comprehensive and concise pattern the recent advances in the management of osteoarthritis stressing on nonpharmacological modalities and its new techniques in an illustrative pattern. Conclusion For satisfying results, management of OA requires organization, coordination and cooperation of several different types of interventions provided by health care professionals in an individualized pattern for each patient that depend on two main factors: 1- Expert physician; who is well oriented by the disease etiology, pathophysiology and all the old and recent modalities and he must be able to chose, by his clinical sense, what is useful and suitable to be involved in the individualized program of the patient and coordinate and cooperate the pharmacological therapies. Also he is responsible for the organization of the role of each one in the rehabilitation teamwork (psychiatrist, occupational therapist, rehabilitation nurses) and so, he must be well educated about the details of each role. 2- Cooperative and well educated patient who can perform his program in an accurate and adequate pattern. Recommendation We want to recommend every body to deal with OA as a disease which can be under control it a well organized program is prepared by an expert clinician and to well educated cooperative patient and this program must involve the non pharmacological therapies which are the primary preventive conservative and may be a curative line which must be begin from the moment of the diagnosis and continued forever to protect the patient’s joints all his lide. |
