Abstract Phosphoric acid is one of the acids which has a major commoditY in fertilizer industries. The requirements of fertilizers in Egypt are largerly increasing to improve the the productivity of agricultural land, this is especially important nowadays to overcome the shortage of food stuffs. phosphate deposits in Egypt are being exploited from the following locations: a) Vicinity of El—Qoseir. Red Sea Coast. b) Vicinity of Safaga, Red Sea Coast. c) Vicinity of El—Sebaeya, Nile Valley Region. d) Vicinity of Abu—Tartour, West Desert Area. Phosphate ores are considered the most essential ores upon which the Egyptian minerological industry is based since the begining of production of phosphate ores in the Nile Valley in 1908 and Red Sea in 1911. The production of phosphate ores in Egypt has been increased from 700 tons in 1908 to more than 650,000 tons in some years of the sixties. The reserves of phosphate ores explored amount to about 400 million tons in Nile Valley, 100 million tons in Red Sea Coast, and more than 1000 million tons in Abu—Tartour. and the existance of other undiscovered phosphate deposits is possible.
