Abstract
The involved housing problems together with the dif¬ferent industrial projects throughout the whole republic present to be one of the most important problem in the state due to contineous demand acquired by the non stop population growth.
/As widely known, ~concrete in its wide meaning is considered to be the most popular constructive material because con¬crete is not only the most economical material but also the most durable one, where it needs little or no maintenance during its service life.
Availability,of raw materials and skillful laborers, together with practical experience in carrying out concrete works with the improved ways of mixing,moulding,and transferring were encouraging its usage in addition.
Under no circumastances, concrete (Plain, reinforced. or prestressed) did contribute a great action in all fields of construction till it became the most vital material that has great effect on development.
In general, aggregate mainly occupies about 75% of the volume of the concrete mass which makes the concrete properties to be greatly affected by the properties of this aggregate, the following are some of them:
