Abstract Aim of the work To study a group of individuals at high risk of osteoporosis, namely postmenopausal women, in order to reveal the state of bone loss occurring during this period of life, and to throw more light on the method of computed tomographic bone mineral densitometry and biochemical markers of bone turnover among this group. Conclusion We conclude that quantitive computed tomographic bone mass measurement appeared to be sensitive than X-ray findings and biochemical markers of osteporosis. Aging sporting activity and immobilization are of value in patients with postmenopausal ostoporosis. |
