Abstract
Since the revolution of technology became the phenomenon of this age, leading to essential changes in people’s mentality and even in their lifestyle, it was essential to explore the state of house within this acceleration of change; as a very effective element in the shape of life. Consequently, the potential importance of this research became clear, where it adopts the mission of investigating the actual role of technology in formulating the future house, hopefully to deliver a real and coherent perception about the impacts of technology and its related information ”IT” in conceptualizing the future house. Therefore, the research aimed to achieve two limited goals during the research progression. The first goal is to explore the ”visions” of technology in the future house design, and the second one is to demonstrate the ”applications” of technology which should be adopted in the house to better meet the challenges of the future.
Due to previous goals, the research thesis stated three main parts to achieve the mentioned goals. In the first part, the research is concerned with investigating the methodology of house evolvement related to IT adoption, by demonstrating the past practices and efforts in the field of house evolution. In addition to explaining the problems and limitations of the contemporary house which led to adopt an alternative house based on futuristic strategies.
In view of the last statement, the research moves into demonstrate the second part of research which implies the ”visions” of technology in the future house design, exploring particularly the methodologies of design and construction related to house of the future, as well as exploring the required operating systems for enabling IT to control the house.
The third and final part of research pays attention to explore the ”applications” of technology in the future house, from the perspective of: the productive house, demonstrating its new role as an integrated cell for supporting the domains of E-Iearning and E-work. Thus, this part of research is concerned with explaining the motives and impacts of adopting the mentioned domains, and further exploring the required environment and technological content to sustain and support the E-Iearning approach and E-work approach.
Ultimately, the research presents the final concluded facts resulting from adopting technology in house of the future, and further stating a vision to futuristic researches related to the same field.
