Abstract The fate of many drugs that are extensively protein bound could be influenced by changes in their binding characteristics. <Because of the clinical consequences that might arise from altered binding to plasma proteins and the effects on distribution and elimination studies on the binding of phenylbutazone and piroxicam to human serum albumin were undertaken. <Binding was stuied using three methods, euilibrium dialysis, difference spectrophotometry and fluorescence quenching techniques.
