Abstract

English Abstract
The study was carried out to know the effect of two immunostimulants black seeds and curcumin on chicken experimentally infected with Gumboro virus. The study had 210 chicks divided into 7 groups (not vaccinated, blackseeds, curcumin, control, infected, infected+blackseeds, and infected+ curcumin). Black seeds and curcumin increased mean body and internal organs weight, decreased mortality rate, raised immunity by increasing α1 and δ globulin and antibody titers against HI and ELIZA testes. On the blood, black seeds elevated GSH content, decreased glucose level, maintained MDA level. While the curcumin decreased glucose sugar and had no effect on other parameters. On kidney, black seeds maintained uric acid and creatinine, Curcumin elevated uric acid, and has no effect on creatinine. On renal tissues, black seeds did not change MDA and vit C. Curcumin elevated MDA and did not change vit C level also. On liver, black seeds and curcumin maintained liver enzymes. On liver tissues, black seeds had no effect on MDA level while curcumin increased it and both increased vit C level at the end of experiment. On bursa tissues, both increased MDA and decreased vit C. Adding black seeds and curcumin to the ration increasing the immunity against Gumboro virus.
