Abstract

Aim of the work
To find Any relation between the plasma level of adrenomedullin and nitric oxide in heart failure, with special interests to the type of heart disease, the age and sex of the cases and the severity of heart failure. That is all in an attempt to help in making a policy to understand the role of ADM & NO in pathogenesis of heart failure.
Conclusion and recommendation:
1- Adrenomedullin and nitric oxide play a compensatory role in the pathophysiology of heart failure.
2- ADM levels reflect the severity of cardiac impairment, are predictive of patients might benefit most from the addition of beta-blocker treatment.
3- Adrenomedullin or Adrenomedullin-receptor agonist might ultimately find a place in the therapeutics of circulatory disorders. Much more information on these issues can be expected in the near future.
4- In the future, insights into the role of NO in cardiac remodeling should allow the development of novel therapeutic strategies to treat cardiac remodeling and failure.
5- NO inhalation therapy improves hemodynamics and exercise capacity in heart failure.
6- Administration of ADM may be effective in patients with pulmonary hypertension. ADM may be a promising endogenous peptide for the treatment of pulmonary hypertension.
