Abstract The aim of this work is establishment of sensitive methods for identification of bovine ephemeral fever-Abbassia virus strain (BEF- A VS). In addition to study of physico-chemical properties of the virus to determine the best conditions during isolation, preservation, identification and inactivation of the virus. For diagnosis ofBEF-AVS, direct fluorescent antibody, indirect ELISA and virus neutralization tests were carried out. For study of physico-chemical properties of BEF-A VS, effect of different treatments were carried out as temperature, PH, cycles of freezing and thawing, fat solvents, proteolytic enzymes and virus inactivators, The results of this study revealed that, direct fluorescent antibody, indirect ELISA and virus neutralization tests were sensitive methods for virus identification. BEF-A VS was sensitive to heat, PH, freezing and thawing cycles (more than two cycles), fat solvents, proteolytic enzymes, formalin and binary. |
