Abstract The liver is a common site for metasis from many primary sites particularly the lung, breast, and the gastrintestinal tract. Differentition between hepatocellular carcinoma , and metastatic carcinoma may be difficult using routine histologic stains. As hepatocellular carcinoma may show a variety of histologic patterns.immunohistochemistry has been extensively applied to hepatic neoplasms for the differential diagnosis between HCC and metastatic carcinoma. It included forty nine retrospective ultrasound guided liver biopsy specimens.Twenty four cases were HCC , twenty cases were metastatic carcinoma, and five cases were for the differential diagnosis between HCC, and metastatic adenocarcinoma. |
