Abstract
The relative impacts of whole flaxseeds flaxseed cake and flaxseeds oil were studied on serum lipids fractions and glucose, body weight and internal organs weights (% of body weight) of Sprague Dawley rats. Of the lipids fraction, total cholesterol TC), triglycerides (TG), very low lipoprotein cholesterol VLDL), high density lipoprotein cholesterol (HDL) and low density lipoprotein cholesterol (LDL) were analyzed. Also atherogenic index (AI) was calculated as the ratio of VLDL+LDL /HDL.
