Abstract This thesis consists often chapters. Chapter 1 This chapter contains a short account about the action of histamine in the body. The pharmacological actions of the histamine antagonists either Hi-receptor antagonists or H2-receptor antagonists have been summarized. A list of the compounds is given in a table form, indicating chemical structure, formula, chemical name and physical properties. A literature review described the reported methods for analysis of the chosen drugs either in a single form or in combinations. Chapter 2 It describes a derivative spectrophotornetric method for the assay of FEX and LOR in dosage forms. D1 and D2 techniques are used for the analysis of both FEX and LOR. On the other hand, derivative difference spectrophotornetry is used for the assay of LOR, as it is p1-I- dependent. Chapter 3 In this chapter a colourimetric method has been developed for the determination of CET, FEX, LOR and ACR in their dosage forms. The method depends on the formation of coloured ion-pair complex with BCP. Chapter 4 This chapter describes spectrophotometric and spectrofluorimetric methods for the analysis of CET, FEX, LOR and ACR in dosage forms through the formation of ion-pair complex with eosin. |
