Abstract
The purpose of this work is to study some problems on the flow of bio- fluids in the human body. In particular, some mathematical models for the flow of blood through a stenotic arteries and arterial catheterization by using a balloon are the major aim of the thesis. We study analytically the micropolar fluid model for blood flow through artery with a mild stenosis. To estimate the effect of the stenosis shape, velocity, the resistance to flow, the wall shear stress distribution in the stenotic region and its magnitude at the maximum height of the stenosis (stenosis throat) on blood flow. The magnetic field and Hall currents influences on blood flow through a stenotic arteries has been studied analytically. Also we study analytically the micropolar fluid model for blood flow through a tapered arteries with a stenosis. Finally we investigate analytically the suspension model for blood flow through arterial catheterization.
