Abstract The purpose of the current piece of research was to treat the shortcomings in the performance of EFL prospective teachers in some teaching skills. The target teaching skills were: Lesson Presentation, Questioning and Error Correction. The treatment tool was a multimedia remedial program presenting the Cognitive Side of the target teaching skills as well as positive models for their practical performance. Two measurement tools were developed and validated. They were: 1) Observation sheet (for measuring the EFL prospective teachers’ performance of the target teaching skills) and 2) Achievement test (for measuring the Cognitive Side of the target teaching skills). The subjects were a group of 20 4th year EFL prospective teachers from Ismailia Faculty of Education. The design of the study was one group pre-and-post test experimental design. The subjects were taught theoretically by the developed multimedia program and trained practically through teaching practice sessions. The results of the study revealed that the developed multimedia remedial program had a significant positive effect on treating the shortcomings in the performance of the teaching skills of 4th year EFL prospective teachers. Practical Application: 1. Dividing the content into modules when developing instructional multimedia programs. 2. Developing multimedia programs based on positive and negative models for the performance of teaching skills in order to strengthen the correct performance of the teaching skills and inhibit their incorrect performance. |
