Abstract
The thesis comprises a phytochemical study of four plants, astragalus tomentosus,astragalus kahiricus, Astraglus spinosus (family legumin- osae)and calligonum comosum (family polygonaceae).this study involved the isolation characterization, structural elucidation of the constituents of these plants using different chromatographic techniques and various tools of chemical and spectral analysis (uv,ir,ms,hnmr,cnmr dept,cosy,noesy,tocsy,hsqc and hmbc ).the biological activity of extracts and the isolated compounds are also reported.this thesis is divided into five parts.
