Abstract
the present study has the following objectives to evaluation of cisplatin nephrotoxicity in these patients by dynamic radionuclide renography.
This study included 30 patients with NSCL;C seen in nthye clinical oncology department between June2004 to June2005.
All patients received at least 3 cycles of cisplatin (75mg/m2 ) containing regimen either as a part of adjuvant therapy or sequential chemotherapy or palliative chemotherapy approach.
The diagnostic work up included history taking, physical examination, complete blood picture, liver and kidney functions , chest x-ray , C.T chest , U/S abdomen , renal imaging with radionuclides.
Assessment of GFR by radionuclide studies was superior to biochemical tests in detecting renal impairment.
Only one patient suffered grade 2 nephrotoxicity , otherwise good hydration helped in minimizing the cisplatin nephrotoxicity.
