Rheumatoid arthritis of wrist joint is a commonly recognised and diagnosed disease, conservative management strategies often fail to yield consistent and prompt return of comfort and function. The aim of this study was evaluation the results of surgical management of rheumatoid wrist in mean of dorsal synovectomy of the wrist joint.Like most diseases, rheumatoid arthritis is early diagnosed in its advanced and characteristic form by the combination of laboratory finding, clinical picture and radiological findings.
Synovectomy of joints and tendon is an accepted method of treatment in rheumatoid arthritis (RA) patients, the indications being to arrest or even to heal the destructive effect of synovitis in tendons, ligaments, cartilage and bone which could be accomplished through different type of synovectomies such as joint debridment, joint clearance, radiation synovectomy, medical synovectomy, volar and dorsal synovectomy over the post year the efficacy of the synovectomy of wrist joint in the management of rheumatoid patients was retrospectively evaluated.
The most important point in the successful performance of synovectomy is the good selection of cases .
