Abstract

The aim of this study was to evaluate the role of hysteroscpic tubal cannulation in diagnosis and treatment of suspected proximal tubal obstruction under laparoscopic guidance.
Conclusion:
The success rate of hysteroscopic tubal cannulation in the present study about 69.56% and the lower incidence of complications encourage the use of this strategy prior to microsurgical repair and IVF.
Also, if this strategy fails to restore tubal patency, referral of the patient to microsurgery and IVF, will be associated with valuable diagnostic information obtained on both proximal and distal tubal segments and the interior of the uterine cavity.
It is important to follow strict aseptic technique during delivery or evacuation procedures and pelvic procedures, to decrease the incidence of postpartum or postoperative infections with its risky on the proximal fallopian tubal segment.
